Nicoles In the Country in Middleburg

Just picked up a to go order for my family and best friend from Georgia. He said,"Best fried shrimp he's ever had." So thank you for the true blue southern hospitality Nicoles in the country crew!

Nice mom-n-pop style restaurant. I had the roast beef on a Kaiser roll, very good. My wife had the cheese burger. This was a first for us. The patty dwarfed the two slices of cheese that were side by side on the patty and the bun! My side potato salad had good flavor and the sweet tea was just right, not syrup but sweet. Can't say the hand breaded onion rings were too good. Next time we'll try the beer battered ones! Oh, price...extremely reasonable! Sorry I've drove by so many times! Waitress was good, checked on you but without over doing it. Wait time was good. We'll be back.

Great country cooking! Fried chicken and hamburger steaks are yummy. We'll, anything you get will be yummy! Huge portions and reasonably priced

The big cheese was SUPER BIG! I'm a big eater, but holy cow I almost couldn't finish it and the fries. Well worth the $10.

Food was good. I recommend the huge burger and the fried shrimp. Only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars was the slow service. If you go go with good friends and have lots to talk about.

Wonderful eatery the food is great. It stays busy but waitstaff is on point, helpful, and professional. We loved eating here and revisit often.

To start with myself and husband ordered 1/2 chickens dinners, w/ 3 side as. He ordered green beans, corn & fried squash, my sides were baked sweet potatoe, baby line beans and fried green tomatoes. Chicken came in containers by themselves, then two other containers I thought one w/his side's and one for mine. But NO, They were mixed up, he had 1 or two of my sides and I had 1 or two or his side's. NOT his in one and mine in the other. Then his squash was soggy, my fried green tomatoes were soggy, I don't like or eat soggy food. And the sweet potatoe was so over cooked, not even 1/2 was eatable. Then the. Baby Green lines , I don't know what or how they cooked them they were so sweet like that cooked then in sugar. Maybe it will be better to dine in. And NO DESERTS.

Delicious food and great prices. I had grilled chicken breast with asparagus spears and fresh collard greens. Portion was large and filling. They had a great dessert menu, but too full to continue.

Omfg . I've been looking for this place all my life!! It is now my favorite breakfast place ever .. you have to try the biscuits and gravy. I swear on everything I love they will blow your mind!!! Sausage was great to. Hashbrowns cooked just like I asked. Yess I will be back!! 💯💯💯💯💯

Real good food. Loves the liver and onions. Okay service. Update: 4/16/2020. This is the second time I have ordered takeout in 2 weeks and orders were incomplete.. First order was only a side missing. This time, one of the 6 meals was missing. Bummer was one of the Liver and Onions was not there. Just wish they could get the orders correct.

They have great food! Love the Mayport shrimp and oysters. Everything is like a home cooked meal.

Great food, good prices, very slow and absent staff. 1 biscuit with gravy and under roasted breakfast potatoes. Other times food has been perfect, so hopefully this was a one-off.

This place is warm and welcoming. The patrons and staff seem to all know each other. We had the Chicken Fired Chicken, Mash Potatoes, and fried Squash, mmmmm it was good and so was the French Toast. The service was outstanding. We're glad we drove by and made a pit stop.

Food was wonderful. Big cheese burger is a massive 1 lb., Kids burger was huge 1/2 lb. With delicious French fries. Chicken fried steak is highly recommended too.

The food is five stars! had breakfast & dinner there. Both were great. Only thing is you need to wash your napkin holders they need attention bad. Love the food, Hire someone to clean the place a bit in the off hours. You have a very special place there. I'll be back!

To bad i do not live around the corner from this restaurant. 1st let me tell it is very nice to see a restaurant that is local. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered one of the featured lunch options. Chicken & dumplings , it cames with 2 sides. As sides I ordered mashed potatoes, salad & Ice tea to drink. Salad was crisp and cold made with iceberg, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. Chicken & dumplings was the best I have had, good portion for lunch. I think the mashed potatoes were made in house. I hope to be back.

It was very good !! I had the special, meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. The customers were spaced out and the waitress was friendly and the food came out quickly so if you want a good meal stop by Nicole's !👍

Just an overall great place to eat!

we were here 2 yrs ago my dad and i both ordered the fried veggie plate. the attraction was getting fried green tomatoes. the entire dish was fantastic. i hope we return as we are back down here for our yearly florida/visiting family and sites trip.

Large portions for the price with great staff. Very small diner catering to locals. Poorly marked and difficult to find unless you know it's there. The table seating is close quarters but the overall experience makes up for it. I will definitely go again when I'm in the area.

As always the food and service was excellent! Food was hot, server was friendly. Definitely a great place to go for a delicious meal.

Stopped here in the morning to get some breakfast and discovered that the owner was the same owner of the old Rite Spot restaurant at Mayport that we enjoyed back in the 80's. Even more exciting was that a lot of the menu items and recipes from the Rite Spot are now on the menu at Nicoles. I'm heading back soon to get the best chicken fried steak and homemade macaroni and cheese I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot). By the way, the breakfast omelette and grits I got were also fantastic.

Great homey place in the country. Went to pay the check and discovered someone else had already covered it for us. Thanks to whoever it was. Very appreciated. Had the shrimp platter, fried.

No reservations needed delicious complimentary for first time guests, excellent staff, friendly management GREAT FOOD, Comes out of the kitChen hot quickly like from grandma's kitchen...couldn't eat it all...I'm a tough critic, but this place deserves proper accolades. ..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME!!!

Really enjoyed our first visit here for breakfast. Clean and bright inside. Good food. Quick service. Excellent. We'll be back. So update. We've been back a few times since the original review. Its sadly gotten worse each time. Not sure we will be back. Food was not even warm today. Our waitress took our order then informs us she has to go pick up the dish washer but the other girls would take care of us. Well they didn't. Had to get ketchup and syrup. No drink refills. Did that ourselves on the way out. Had to walk up and ask for the check. No service at all.

Great food and service. I very impressed with the value of the meals and the great servers who keep up with the fast pace of breakfast and lunch. The comfort of the experience gave the place a feeling of a meal with family and friends rather than a restaurant. I hope I can return soon to sample more from the menu.

Cannot rate the food, was never served. Wanted to order takeout but there was no one greeting anyone. A customer had to show me where to find a menu. Tried to speak to person over at the coffee station but was ignored as she began talking to someone already seated and eating. Tried to talk to her again and got "she'll be back in a minute". No thanks, put the menu down and left. Will never go back. Also, the place suffers from poor ventilation - you leave smelling like fried food.

Place is smaller inside than it would seem from the outside. Food was good. I had the burger and it was huge, didn’t fit on the bun. Would have preferred two burger patties, rather than one large one that didn’t fit on the bun. Ended up being a hamburger steak. But it was well seasoned and a good burger. For the side I had fries, nothing special. Was a good lunch.

Been here once and I am dying to go back . I got the 1lb burger and frys . Man was that thing amazing . The price was very fair for it as well . Staff was very friendly and was a nice clean environment to eat . We didn't feel rushed ( it's a really big burger ) Stop in and give them a shot . I will definitely be back .

I don't live in Middleburg but love this little place. When I have family and friends come they always want to go there. They have fresh food and a lite batter on the shrimp and chicken livers. I always plan trips to clay or duval county to plan a stop there. My sister is here, guess where we are going today.
